Seraphina Plumbottom founded Catnap Mattress Co. with a pillow, a bowl of cream and the unshakeable belief that the world would be better if it lay down a little more. She is a pale grey Persian of nine, with a voice like a closing door.
Each morning she walks the shop floor, touching each bed once with a single paw, to wake it up. Each evening she returns and presses them again, to put them to sleep. Staff report that the beds respond.
